Family and friends may call at the Congregational Missionary Church, 8095 Hazelwood Avenue, Stonewood Wednesday, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Sherman Goodwin and Reverend Frank Martin officiating.   Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Donna “Sue” Boyles Martin, 74, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018, at the United Hospital Center following an extended illness.

 

She was born in Clarksburg, on October 26, 1943, a daughter of the late Donley Edison and Ruth Blanche Gain Boyles.

 

On January 2, 2018, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Neil Martin, whom she married on August 31, 1963.

 

Mrs. Martin is survived by two daughters, Kelly Stacks and husband Warren of Winston Salem NC, and Debra Ridgway and husband Ronald of Clarksburg, WV; five grandchildren, Kristin Stacks, Lauren Stacks, Ryan Stacks, Drew Ridgway and Allie Ridgway.  She is also survived by one brother, Donald Lee Boyles and wife Darlene of Fairmont, three brothers-in-law, Bob Nutter of Westerville, OH, Carl Martin of Stonewood, and Don Martin of Quiet Dell; three sisters-in-law, Willa Jean Frazier-Green of Stonewood, Nina Rhodes and husband Tom of Clarksburg, and Dollie Mertz and husband Ralph of Exton, PA; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Isaac Ridgway, her sister, Polly Nutter and her brother, Ralph Boyles and his wife Jean.

 

Sue was a graduate of Bridgeport High School and attended Congregational Missionary Church.  She was a homemaker and loved to have Sunday dinners at her home.  She enjoyed traveling, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a member of the Anmoore Extension Homemakers.

 

A special thank you to all who have helped the Martin family through the past year; including family, friends, church family, and special thanks to her “chosen adopted” daughter, Deena Monroe-Herron, Jeff Swisher, Carol Hickman, Shirley and Dan Simmons, Polly Hyre, Denise Poling, Shirley and Raymond Miller for all of their labors of love.
