Dusty Cameron Lister, 62, of Nutter Fort, WV, ended his battle with cancer on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at UHC under the tender care of his family and hospice.

He was born April 29, 1957, in Clarksburg, WV, to Paul Gene and Lyda Ann Harrison Lister. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Roy and Ella Lister and Russell and Reba Harrison.

Dusty graduated from Roosevelt-Wilson High School in 1975 and joined the US Army being stationed in Panama. He still attended yearly reunions with his 1097th Transportation Company, alias “River Raiders”.

He lived for a while in VA where his eldest daughter, Teresa Jackson and son-in-law PJ live. His first grandson D’Andre is soon to graduate Virginia State College. Then he lived in Jackson, CA, where his other daughter, Kisandra Lister and fiance David, sons: Dusty Lister and Rocky Lister, and grandsons: Owen, Ryan and Hunter still live.

Dusty ran his own Construction company and worked all over WV, and the surrounding states. He built, repaired or remodeled pretty much anything that was needed.

One of his greatest joys was being outdoors. He was an avid mountain biker, kayaker, and photographer. He won a state award for his photos of WV, the state he loved. His other greatest joy came from playing harmonica with many local bands, including the Davisson Brothers and their family. But his greatest was his family. He spent countless hours tracing family history and entertaining us with our relatives from afar. He was the rescuer of damsels in distress and a gentle giant who protected all his friends.

Dusty is survived by his parents and siblings: Paul Lister and wife Xenia in NY, Sheree Rosevear and husband Will in NV, James Lister in PA, John Lister and wife Brenda in TX, and Duane Lister and wife Bethany in WV. Besides his own family, he has nieces and nephews: Jennifer Lister Frank and husband Greg with daughter Sophia, Pauly Lister, Patrick Lister and husband Jason, JD Lister and wife Abigail, Nicole Lister and fiance Julian Walker with children Scarlett and Cameron, Jae and Jordan Lister, Broc and Brooke Lister.

Family and friends are welcome to say their goodbyes at Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 pm, where funeral services will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 11:00 am with Reverend Bonnie Starkey officiating. Interment will be in the Seventh Day Baptist Church Cemetery in Lost Creek.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Vincent Memorial Methodist Church, 401 Indiana Avenue, Nutter Fort, WV 26301.
