Friends and family may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm where Catholic Burial Rites will be celebrated on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow in the Floral Hills Mausoleum.

Ernest Frank “Babe” Grilli, 76, of Clarksburg passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the United Hospital Center following a courageous battle with cancer.

 

He was born in Clarksburg, WV on June 2, 1943, a son of the late Ernest Carl and Isabel Loria Grilli.

 

Surviving are his son Michael Grilli and Carrie of Jane Lew, daughter Angela Grilli and Bobby Laine of Bridgeport, three grandchildren; Kylee Grilli, Brody Laine and Pax Laine, three brothers; John Grilli and wife Diana, Carl Grilli and wife Doris, and Joe Grilli and wife Vickie, all of Clarksburg, two sisters; Marie Robinette and husband Roger of Lavale, MD and Edna Ferrella of Monroeville, PA; several nieces and nephews; as well as his best friend David Patsy.

 

Babe retired from the City of Clarksburg Public Works Department. He enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle with friends, cooking dinner on the holidays with his family, and spending time with his grandchildren.

 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Grilli was preceded in death by one sister, Marsha Grilli, one niece Kimberly Robinette, and one brother-in-law Tony Ferella.
