Obituaries

Frances Louise “Nana” Dean Gerrard, 74, of Stonewood, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2018 in the United Hospital Center. She was born in Clarksburg on March 21, 1944, a daughter of the late Frances “Jake” and Louise Fox Dean.

Surviving are one son, Stephen Dale Helmick and his wife Sandra of Valley Falls; one daughter, Tina Helmick Johnson; five grandchildren, Jake Helmick, Kyle Johnson, Reese Johnson, Paige Johnson and Breanna Helmick; one brother, Donald Dean; one sister, Brenda Dean Kline; one sister, Linda Dean Shakman; three nephews, Randy Dean, TC Dean and Allan Cox; and three nieces, Mamie Dean, Julie Helfman and Ronda Hayes. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Dean.

Mrs. Gerrard was a retired Financial Analyst in the Civilian Department of the Navy. She resided in Stonewood until 1985 when she moved to Stafford, Virginia to pursue her career, having returned to Stonewood upon her retirement from the government. Frances was a member of the Congregational Missionary Church.

Family and friends may call at Congregational Missionary Church, 8095 Hazelwood Avenue, Stonewood on Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, where funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm with Reverend Sherman Goodwin officiating. Interment will be in the Stonewall Park Cemetery.
