There will be a gathering of family and friends at Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Friday, November 8, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon.  A graveside service will follow in the WV National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Brian Plum presiding. Full military honors will be accorded.

Frankie John Gervella, 78, of Jane Lew, WV, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

 

He was born in Clarksburg, WV, on May 1, 1941, a son of the late John and Theresa Paletta Gervella.

 

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Gasparini Gervella, whom he married on April 16, 1972.

 

Also surviving are his son, Larry Gervella of Albuquerque, New Mexico; his daughter, Theresa Gervella and wife Misty Sevy of Lost Creek; his grandson, Tallon Sevy; sister, Sarah Frush and husband Gary of Buckhannon; his uncle, Tony Paletta and wife Nancy of Strongsville, OH; and brother-in-law, Pete Gasparini and wife Emma of New York; two nieces, Lisa Frush Parsons and husband Kyle and Lori Frush Schmelz and husband Mark; two nephews, Brennon Gasparini and Peter Gasparini; great-nieces; Gulia Parsons, Sophia Parsons and Lillie Schmelz; and great-nephew Luke Schmelz.

 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, John Gervella, Jr.

 

Frankie was a 1959 graduate of Washington Irving High School and was a veteran in the U.S. Army.  He retired from Nokia with 37 years of service and was the former owner of Frankie G’s Diner in Good Hope.

 

He was a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hot rod cars and motorcycles and drag raced at Eldora Drag Strip. He also formerly enjoyed woodworking.
