Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, WV where visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4th, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Vigil Rite will be held at 7:30 PM to conclude the visitation. A Catholic Funeral Rite will be held on Wednesday, February 5th, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 8092 Third Street, Stonewood, WV with Deacon John Yaquinta presiding. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife.

George William Musrock, 87, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 28, 2020, in the house his father built in Stonewood, WV. He lived his entire life within a 40-mile radius of where he was born. He was a devoted and loving son, husband and father.

 

He was born in Stonewood, WV, on August 16, 1932, a son to the late Stephen and Mildred Musrock.

 

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 28 years, Erma Lee Bonnet Musrock, who passed away 30 years ago. He was also preceded in death by his brother Daniel S. Musrock, his sister Mary Ann Nichols and recently by his brother-in-law Jim Nichols, who was his next-door neighbor for over 40 years.

 

He is survived by his son Bill Musrock and wife Gabriella of Knoxville, TN, his daughter Lisa Linn Musrock of Orlando, FL; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Roy and husband Robert, Catherine Hodges, Alexandra, Jackson, Bailey and Carter Musrock; and two great-grandchildren, Adelynn and Corbin Roy. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Helen Musrock of Charleston, WV, and several nieces and nephews who often checked in on him.

 

George loved to spend his early mornings at the Nutter Fort McDonalds talking with his friends about the old days. He was a sports enthusiast and avid follower of WVU sports, the Steelers and Pirates. He had a keen eye for the abilities of sport athletes and would have been a great coach. George graduated from Roosevelt-Wilson High School (class of 1950) and worked for 19 years at Pittsburgh Plate Glass factory in Stonewood, WV and 22 years with Consolidated Natural Gas in Pine Grove, WV and Bridgeport, WV. He was a regular weekly parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Stonewood, and before that at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Stonewood.
