Gilaine Ann Singleton, 80, of Lost Creek, WV, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018, at the home of her daughter, Beatrice, in Stonewood.

 

She was born in Weston, WV, on October 20, 1937, a daughter of the late Lansing and Laura Jones Skidmore.

 

She was married on February 11, 1957, to Charles W. Singleton, who preceded her in death on December 13, 2004.

 

Mrs. Singleton is survived by five children, Mark Singleton and wife Pearl of Dover, PA, Carl Singleton and wife Rhonda of Good Hope, Beatrice Chipps of Stonewood, Vickie Singleton of Clarksburg, and Charlotte Phillips and husband Gary of Lost Creek; 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Melaine Wallace and husband George of Bradeton, FL; sister-in-law, and Libby Skidmore of Bradeton, FL.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, one brother, Lanny Skidmore, and two sons-in-law, Willie Chipps and Dorman Searcy.

 

Gilaine graduated from St. Albans High School in 1955 and went on to Business College. She was a Home Health Aide with the Senior Citizens and a cook for the Harrison County Board of Education with 24 years of Service.

 

Mrs. Singleton was a member of the New Bethel United Methodist Church in Good Hope, and loved to embroidery.
