H. G. “JR” Souder, 70, of Clarksburg passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 in the United Hospital Center following an extended illness.

He was born in Gainesville, MO on September 5, 1947, a son of the late Hiram G. Souder, Sr. and Ruby Lavern Denham Souder.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian Frances “Cherie” Daugneaux Souder, whom he married May 1, 1971; one son, Jason Scott Souder and his wife Angela of San Antonio, TX; one daughter, Stacey Stansbury and her husband Michael of Dunkirk, MD; five grandchildren, Caroline and Allison Stansbury; Aidan, Kendall and Jonas Souder; and one sister, Leida Jones of Pasadena, MD. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Vernetta Souder.

JR was a United States Army veteran, having been stationed in Germany, and was a technician and manager for Xerox Corporation having retired with 33 years of service. He was also a member of the West Milford United Methodist Church.

In keeping with his request, Mr. Souder will be cremated.
