Helen Irene Martin, 30, of Stonewood, passed away at her residence on Monday, November 11, 2019.

 

She was born in Fairmont, WV on November 13, 1988, a daughter of Jeffrey Davis Blankenship and the late Joyce Ann Hilling.

 

She is survived by her husband Jesse Martin of Stonewood, her seven year old daughter Jessa Martin, five year old son Jayden Martin; siblings; Jodi Blankenship, Tiffany Loudin and husband Charles, Christopher and Michael Blankenship; mother-in law and father-in-law Tom and Brenda Martin; step-mother Valerie Blankenship; sister-in-law Misty Gray and husband Corey; brother-in-law Justin Martin; several aunts and uncles; one special aunt; Carolyn Bagwell and husband Jim; several nieces and nephews; special friend who thought of her as a daughter and helped with her care; Angie Thalheim-Stehr and her husband Chuck; special friends who thought of her as a big sister; Alley, Megan and Lukas; and Marty Frazier and Rebel, his dog.

 

Helen was a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School. She went on to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and was employed by a nursing home for a few years. The Special Olympics held a place in her heart where she enjoyed playing bocce and cheerleading. She assisted with the Special Olympics at the Disability Action Center of Marion County. She enjoyed knitting and crafting. She loved her dog Princess. Helen loved her children and husband Jesse more than anything. She loved to play games on her phone. Helen was always a friendly face to anyone.

 

Mrs. Martin was cremated. A Celebration of Life will be hosted by her family on Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Disability Action Center, 102 Benoni Avenue, Fairmont, WV.

 

The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Amos Carvelli Funeral Home to assist with her funeral bill.
