Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., where services will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dustin McCune presiding.   Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

Hilda L. Cogar Cork, age 105, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018, at her residence.

 

She was born in Berryburg, WV, on June 18, 1913, the daughter of the late Lantie C. and Elva Hershman Cogar.

 

Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Cork, and her younger brother, Manfred Ford Cogar.

 

Mrs. Cork is survived by nieces and nephews, David Cogar and wife Kathy, Jenny Stewart and husband Willie; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews.  She is also survived by a special cousin, Randy Steele and several other cousins.

 

She retired from Consulting Engineer after 20 years of service.  She was a 90-year member of the United Methodist Temple Church, where she served as Treasurer for over 30 years.  She also served the less fortunate in our community by volunteering at the Mustard Seed for several years.

 

The family wishes to extend their gratitude and thanks to her caregivers, Janet Wentz and Misty Street, her special nurse, Christy Hart, and to Amedysis Hospice for the wonderful care given to Hilda.
