Obituaries

Jacqueline Ruth “Jackie” Moore, 90, of Bridgeport, WV, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Maplewood in Bridgeport.

She was born in Wilsonburg, WV, on November 7, 1933, a daughter of the late Leon F. “Farmer” and Thelma Thompson Wilson.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Moore in April of 2018.

She is survived by her children, Robert Benjamin Moore and his wife Stephanie of Mentor OH, and Cynthia J. Moore of Bridgeport, WV; and three grandchildren, Rebekah Moore, Kara Moore and husband Dylan Salvatore, and Kyle Moore.  She also leaves behind her brother Robert L. Wilson and wife Debbie of Sun Valley.

Jackie was a graduate of Victory High School and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree from West Virginia University.  She was the owner and operator of Kiddie Kollege Kindergarten and later was the director of Children’s World Daycare Center in Clarksburg. She was a member of the Bridgeport Church of Christ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38015.

Per her request, there will be no public viewing, and a private graveside service was held at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.  A celebration of life will be at a later date.
