Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a Graveside Service at 1:30 pm in the Sunset Memorial Park with Pastor John Langenstein presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the V.F.W. Post 573, 430 W. Pike Street, Clarksburg WV 26301.

James ‘Jim’ Courtney Stemple, age 75, passed away at his home on Saturday, February 3, 2024.

He was born in Clarksburg, WV on July 7, 1948, a son of the late James and Dessie Linn Stemple.

Jim is survived by his companion, Jeannie Carson; two sons James ‘Jimbo’ Stemple and his wife Johnna of North View, WV and Robert ‘Bob’ Stemple and companion Kristi Schwartz of Clarksburg, WV; four grandchildren, Courtney Taylor and her husband Brian of Clarksburg, Lindy and Jimmy Stemple of North View and Tyler Stemple of Clarksburg; one brother, Clayton Stemple of Korea; and three sisters, Maxine McCartney of Ohio, Mary Mick of Clarksburg and Murhl Blessing of Virginia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Leon, Leonard, Victor, his twin brother, Jerry, and Harold Stemple; and three sisters, Wilda Parsons, Nancy Winters, and Johnny Wood.

Jim began working as a contractor with his father’s construction company at the age of 15. He took ownership of the business and worked with his late brother and two sons until his death, proudly serving members of the community as the Stemple Builders for over 50 years.

Jim was a beloved father, grandfather and friend. In his early years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family. He also enjoyed completing crossword puzzles, watching Nascar, visiting with friends at the local V.F.W., and spending time with his family.
