Family and Friends may call to the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison St., Nutter Fort, WV on Tuesday, July 24 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, where funeral services will be held at 3:00pm with Reverend Michael Burge officiating.   Per his request cremation services will follow.

James Leroy “Jim” Lofton, 72, of Buckhannon, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, July 20, 2018 following an extended illness. He was born in Old Fields, WV on December 27, 1945, a son of the late Homer and Sadie Sions Lofton.

 

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Debbie Wilt Lofton, whom he married on November 26, 1976.

 

Also surviving is one daughter, Amiee Roller and husband Tim of Georgia; one son, Chris Lofton and wife Toni of Georgia; one stepson, David Wolfe and wife Marsha of Clarksburg; five sisters, Freda Branson of Moorefield, WV, Lila See of Buckhannon, Rose Sholes and husband Ron of Weston, Ada Alderman and husband Jim of Buckhannon, and Elizabeth Abel and husband Roger of Buckhannon; one brother, Elmer Lofton and wife Cecelia of McLean, VA; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Chester Lofton and Homer Lofton; and four sisters, Mildred Lofton, Eloise Lofton, Patricia Ottaviano, and Bernice See.

 

Jim retired from Verizon as a technician with 30 years of service. He was a Mason and a member of Franklin Lodge #7 in Buckhannon. He was Protestant by Faith.

 

In Lieu of Flowers, the family ask that memorial donations be made out to the Upsur County Humane Society, P.O. Box 2292 Buckhannon, West Virginia 26201.
