Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Mark Smith presiding.   Interment will follow in the WV National Cemetery where full military graveside rites will be accorded.

James Paul Maul, 73, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at the WV Veterans Nursing Facility, following an extended illness.

 

He was born in Baltimore, MD, on July 13, 1944, a son of the late Earnest Paul and Violet Mallett Maul.

 

Mr. Maul is survived by his first wife, Linda Mearns Maul; two sons, Jim Maul and wife Carolyn of Clarksburg, and David Maul and wife Maria of Lost Creek; three daughters, Amanda “Mandy” Bassell and husband Jeff of Lost Creek, Marsha Drummond and husband Calvin of Johnstown, and Brittany Gordon of Mannington; 14 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

 

James was a graduate of Lost Creek High School. He was a veteran in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War serving as a sonar technician on the USS Robert A. Owens. He retired from Harrison Conveyor where he was a machinist.

 

Mr. Maul was Protestant by faith, and a member of the N.R.A.  He enjoyed, fishing, and hunting, especially “Turkey”, and camping with family and friends, Tom Moore and Ron Cunningham.
