Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison St, Nutter Fort on Sunday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm where the funeral service will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 11:00 am with Pastor Tim Sandy presiding. Interment will follow in the Hardman Cemetery.

James Thomas “Tom” Dodd, 69, of Clarksburg passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.

He was born in Clarksburg on March 22, 1955, a son of the late John J. and Margie Lamp Dodd.

He is survived by his companion, Rosemarie Dodd of Wilsonburg; one son, Tom Dodd of Clarksburg; one daughter, Rebekah Dodd of Clarksburg; one step-son, Eric Sprout and his wife Stephanie of Mannington; one step-daughter, Heather Stevens of Clarksburg; eight grandchildren, Destiny Kearns and her husband Tinker, Bonnie Dodd, Heidi Dodd, Alex Sprout, Haley Sprout, Zach Stevens, Brooke Stevens and Skyler Stevens; 12 great grandchildren, Michele Kearns, Anthony Kearns, Mason Kearns, Carly Burger, Ryder Dodd, Jamison Dodd, Jeremiah Hickman, Ashley Hickman, Zane Stevens, Karma Stevens, Isaiah Swiger and Abigail Swiger; three sisters, Linda Dodd of Sardis, Rosalee Dodd of Reynoldsville and Lee Stevens and her husband Ted of Reynoldsville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by one grandson, R. Anthony Dodd; one granddaughter, Chelsea Dodd; two brothers, Richard Wayne Dodd and John Dodd; one sister, Patrica Dodd; and one daughter-in-law, Michele Dodd.

Mr. Dodd was employed with Asplundh Tree Service.

Tom loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed attending the Church of Christ in Wallace and was an avid Bible reader.
