Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Sunday from 2:00 to 7:00 pm, where funeral services will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 11:00 am with Reverend Brian Plum officiating. Interment will be in the WV National Cemetery where full military graveside rites will be accorded.

John Gervella, Jr., 72, of Clarksburg, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family and friends on Tuesday, May 8, 2018. He was born in Clarksburg on August 11, 1945, a son of the late John and Theresa Paletta Gervella.

 

He is survived by one brother, Frank Gervella and his wife Lorraine of Good Hope; one sister, Sarah Frush and her husband Gary of Buckhannon; one nephew, Larry Gervella; three nieces, Lisa Frush Parsons and her husband Kyle, Lori Frush Schmelz and her husband Mark, and Theresa Gervella and her wife Misty; three great nieces; two great nephews; one uncle, Anthony Paletta and his wife Nancy of Strongsville, OH; his close friend, Anne Miller; his childhood friend, Butch Gordon and his wife Candy; close friend, Danny & Darlene Wright; and numerous close friends.

 

John was a United States Navy Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He was a former parts manager at WV Tractor & Supply with over 20 years of service, having retired from Pratt Whitney Paint Department with 17 years of service.

 

John was an avid car enthusiast, going frequently to car shows. During the summer John could be seen at the Rose Bud Plaza Cruise-Ins, and he was meticulous about every detail of car restoration.

 

He was Methodist by faith.
