Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Wednesday from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, where funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 11:00 am with Reverend Tim Sandy officiating. Interment will be in the Hardman Cemetery.

John J. Dodd, Jr., 65, of Bennetts Run Road, Lumberport, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Clarksburg on September 7, 1952, a son of the late John Joseph, Sr. and Margie Lamp Dodd.

 

He is survived by his companion of 43 years, Geneva Davis; one son, Ethan Davis, Lumberport; two brothers, Richard Dodd and his wife Helen of Clarksburg, and Thomas Dodd and his wife Rosemary of Clarksburg; one brother-in-law, Roger Dodd; three sisters, Linda Dodd of Sardis, Lee Stevens and her husband Ted of Clarksburg; several nieces and nephews; four step-children, Rob Davis, Jeff Davis, Pam Davis, and Rose Dodd, all of Clarksburg; 10 step grandchildren, Amanda Shaffer, Shantell Shaffer, Ashley Davis, Nikki Armstead, Tesla Davis, Davey Davis, Richard Davis, David Davis, Tiffany Davis, and Scotty Davis; and several step great grandchildren.

 

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Dodd; and two step children, David Davis and Becky Davis.

 

Mr. Dodd was a retired small engine mechanic, having worked for Walls Lawn Mower Shop and retired from Repair King with 25 years of service.

 

He was Baptist by faith.
