Obituaries

Joseph Daniel “Joe” McCloy, 41, of Bridgeport and formerly of Rosemont, passed away on July 9, 2023 following an extended illness.

He was born on October 25, 1981, a son of the late Tambra Maxwell Flint and Randy McCloy Sr. who survives in Rosemont.

In addition to his father, Joe is survived by his stepfather, Tim Flint of Bridgeport; four siblings, Randy McCloy Jr. and wife Anna of Simpson, Matt McCloy and wife April McCloy of Bridgeport, Lila Friend and companion Adam Nesbitt of Clarksburg, and Chris McCloy and wife Crystal of Bridgeport; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Henry and Marcilee Maxwell, and paternal grandparents, Bernard and Shirley McCloy.

Joe attended Bridgeport High School. He was an avid video gamer and NASCAR fan. He had a special talent for all things electrical and mechanical. He could repair most anything with a motor and from a young age and would take toys apart to see how they worked.

Special thanks to April McCloy and Matt McCloy for opening their home to Joe as he wished, and for caring for him throughout his illness. Thanks to the nurses of Amedisys Hospice Care for their kindness.

Mr. McCloy will be cremated.

Family and friends will be received at the Mountain Baptist Church, 3 Timrod Drive, Fairmont, WV on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM. A service will then begin at 3:00 PM with Pastor Jason D. Robinson presiding.
