Family and friends may call at Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison St., Nutter Fort, on Sunday, November 25th from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m where a vigil service will be held at 5:30 p.m. with Father Casey Mahone. Funeral services will be held at Immaculate Conception, 126 E Pike St, Clarksburg, WV 26301 on Monday, November 26th at 10:00 a.m. with Father Casey Mahone presiding. Interment will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Josephine (Diaz) Lasko, 94, of Clarksburg, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 23, 2018.

Josephine was born June 20, 1924, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Otera) Diaz. On February 8, 2000 she was preceded in death by her husband Casey Lasko whom she married on June 11, 1949.

 

She is survived by her five children, Mary Anne Brown and husband George of Bardstown, KY, Barbara Weaver and husband Norman of Clarksburg, Jean Lasko, Steven Lasko and wife Susan of Clarksburg, and Roberta Burks and husband Mark of Frazier’s Bottom, WV, three grandchildren, Brooke Lusk and husband Donnie, Kayla Lasko and Emily Lasko, and four great-grandchildren; Briana Lusk, Kynzi Waller, Kylee Waller, and Darrell Boone III. Also surviving are her sister Connie Williams and husband Cy of Beckley, WV as well as several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her dedicated caregivers, Sherry Sellers and Joannie Marteny.

 

She was also preceded in death by her siblings; Mary Sheets, Sally Baitty, Thomas Diaz, Delores Slusser, Louis Diaz, and Louise Shaw.

 

She was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Church where she was a member of the funeral choir and would also take time on her Tuesday mornings to go to the church and clean. She worked at Hazel Atlas and was church secretary at Central Christian Church. She enjoyed being a literacy volunteer.
