Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., where the funeral will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Fred Aves presiding. Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Karen R. Halverson Vance, 72, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away peacefully, with her husband by her side, on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at her residence.
She was born in Rome, Georgia, on January 25, 1946, a daughter of the late Rudolph and Mary Stanley Halverson.
Karen was married to her husband, Richard Vance, on June 29, 1990, who resides at their residence.
Also surviving are one child, Herschel Gibbs, IV of Nashville, TN; two grandchildren, Herschel Gibbs, V, and Meagan Gibbs; and one sister, Shirley Bennett of Arlington, TX.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ellen Styne.
Karen was a loan officer with Colonial Savings and Loan in Fort Worth, TX, and attended Christian Assembly. She enjoyed traveling with her husband in their RV, cooking, and being a hostess.
