Obituaries

We lost a loving wife, mother and grandmother today, August 22, 2017, Karen Sue Smith.
She was born on June 18, 1948 in Clarksburg, WV the daughter of the late Virgil and Thelma Currey Caynor of West Milford.
She is survived by her husband Robert “Bob” Smith of West Milford whom she married June 15, 1968 and resides at their home. Two loving kids, Robert “Douglas” Smith and wife Sheri of Clemmans, NC and Dawnetta Thompson and fiancé Jimmy Brown of Salem, WV; two grandsons, Troy Thompson of Salem, WV and Joe Brown of Fairmont, WV. She is also survived by one brother, Robert Caynor and wife Betty of Sarasota, FL and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Caynor, one sister, Patty Bland, one nephew, Lenny Fretwell and one niece, Sandy Fretwell.
She graduated from South Harrison High School in 1966. She loved to go camping and vacationing at Myrtle Beach. She also loved NASCAR of which her favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and loved being with her family and friends. She was retired and was a loving housewife and mother. She will be deeply missed.
Per her request, she will be cremated.
