Family and friends will be received at Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Monday, January 13th 2025, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A prayer vigil will be held at 7:00 pm to conclude the visitation. A Mass of Christian Buril will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 11:00 am at St. James Catholic Church, 2107 Pride Avenue, Clarksburg, with Father Akila Rodrigo as Celebrant. Entombment will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Larry J. Policano, 75, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on January 10th. 2025.
He was born in Clarksburg, WV, on March 20th, 1949, a son of the late Dominick Policano and the late Mary Frances “Fluffy” Cowgill Policano.
Larry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Angela Paletta Policano and two sons Dr. Brian C. Policano and wife Whitney and Matthew V. Policano and wife Heather. His grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, are William Policano, Dominick Bombardiere, Angelina Policano, Mariella Policano, Matteo Policano, Ninah Policano and Lucia Policano. Larry is also survived by two sisters Roseanne Policano of Clarksburg and Mary D Barnett and husband Ed of Clarksburg and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Dr. Diane & Dr. Reginald McClung of Charleston, WV. Surviving nieces are Dr. Kristen Payne and husband Dr. Brian Payne of New Orleans, Dominique Spatafore and husband Joey of Bridgeport and Rosemary Policano of Clarksburg.
Mr. Policano was preceded in death by his mother and father Dominick and Mary Frances “Fluffy” Policano, two brothers Robert Policano and David Policano and sister Beverly Policano.
Larry was a 1967 graduate of Notre Dame High School and long-standing local business owner, serving on the board of Uptown Clarksburg. Together with his wife Angela, he was the owner of Clarksburg Beauty Academy & School of Massage Therapy and Spa Policano and was the developer of Rose Bud Plaza. One of Larry’s passions was carrying on the North Central West Virginia Parkinson’s Support Group, the first such group in the state, which was founded by his father Dominick over 30 years ago.
Larry was known for his witty sense of humor, generosity, love of animals, and most of all love of his family and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Central West Virginia Parkinson’s Patient and Family Support Group, Harrison County Humane Society or The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in Larry’s memory.
Larry will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all the lives he’s touched. May his memory, legacy and bright light live on in your hearts forever.
