Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 pm to conclude the visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 10:00 am with Father Casey Mahone as Celebrant. Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Margaret Frances “Peggy” D’Annunzio, 85, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018, at her residence, surrounded by her daughter Terry Durst and granddaughter Anjelica D’Annunzio.

 

She was born in East Boston, Massachusetts, on June 16, 1933, a daughter of the late Vincent and Theresa O’Brien DeStefano.

 

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, and the love of her life Natale “Ben” D’Annunzio in 2007.

 

Mrs. D’Annunzio is survived by one daughter, Katherine “Terry” Durst and husband Ron of Chantilly, VA; her three sons, James “Rick” D’Annunzio and wife Robyn of Clarksburg, Christopher “Chris” D’Annunzio and wife Debby of Clarksburg, and Steven D’Annunzio and wife Tammy of Little River, SC; Peggy was a loving grandmother of nine grandchildren, Jeremy Durst and wife Lisa, Daniel Durst and wife Elizabeth, James D’Annunzio, Heather Groves and husband Greg, Ben D’Annunzio, Anjelica D’Annunzio, Joseph D’Annunzio, Alex D’Annunzio, and Nicholas D’Annunzio; great-grandchildren, Charlie, Mason, Bryce and Beckett. She enjoyed a close loving relationship with her surviving sister-in-law, Gloria Alvarez of Bridgeport, and her several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Vincent “Red” DeStefano; brother-in-law, Manuel “Bridge” Alverez, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sam and Lucia D’Annunzio; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Katie and Jimmy D’Annunzio.

 

Mrs. D’Annunzio was former owner of Health Bread Co. along with her husband and previously sold real estate. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

 

Peggy was a fun loving woman who enjoyed traveling, games, and family celebrations.
