Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Sunday, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A service will be held Monday, April 15, at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Peggy Williams presiding.  Per her request, cremation services will follow.

Margaret Louise Buffey Steele Watson, affectionately known as “Mug-a-bug” and “Muggie”, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the United Hospital Center.

 

Her husbands, Dorsey Steele and Alva Watson Jr., preceded her in death. Margaret was born on March 6, 1930, in Clarksburg, WV, a daughter of the late Michael and Victoria Buffey.

 

Surviving are six children; Eddie Steele and wife Norma of Quiet Dell, Bobby Steele and wife Karen of Bridgeport, Mikee Steele of Broadway, David Watson of Clarksburg, Susie Watson Gorby of Stonewood and her companion Jimmy Lopez, Buffie Lee and husband Delmas, and former son-in-law Dr. Bruce Gorby of Weston; eight grandchildren; Bobby Steele, PJ Steele, Krissy Robinson and husband Ed, , Julie Watson Perris, DJ Watson and companion Jennifer Johnson, Levi Watson, Victoria Rose Gorby, Sophia Margaret-Marie Gorby; several great-grandchildren; Zach Steele, Mackenzie Steele, Antonio and Dominick Robinson, Ben Lee, Landyn Curotz, Salvi Perris, Makayla (Watson) Schindler, Carl (Watson) Schindler, Adam Watson, Lynsie (Watson) Herrod, Cassius (Watson) Blevins, and Willow Rose Wilkes, three sisters; Nancy Hartman of Myrtle Beach, Patricia Toothman of Clarksburg, and Becky Sprout and husband Dick of Clarksburg.

 

Margaret was preceded in death by one son; Arthur Emory Steele, two grandsons; Eddie Steele and Alex Gorby; seven sisters; Gladys Ciancio, Mary Hall, Angela “Addie” Gallo, Rosalee “Unnie” Moran, Virginia “Uggie” Williams, Barbara “Bea” Nutter and Joann Leeson; as well as two brothers; Guy Buffey and Johnny Buffey.

 

Margaret was an eternal optimist, always finding good in everything and everybody.  She held no prejudices whatsoever.  She was fondly referred to at times as “Jitty” or “Roadrunner”.  She loved helping others no matter who they were including hitchhikers.  She was an avid poetry writer, and thanked God for something every day.  Above all, she loved her family and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
