Friends may call at the First Baptist Church of Vienna, 450 Orchard Street, NW, Vienna, VA 22180 on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 5:00 p.m. with his daughter, Reverend Arica Cox, presiding. Interment will be held at the WV National Cemetery, 42 Veterans Memorial Lane, Grafton, WV 26354 on Friday, November 9, 2018, at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Vernon C. Walton presiding. Full Military Honors will be accorded.

Reverend Martin E. Cox, 72, of Herndon, VA, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018.
He was born on March 18, 1946, a son of the late Alexander and Theresa Barnett Cox.
Reverend Cox is survived by his wife, Ruth Perkins Cox; three sons, Martin Cox II and his wife Amy, Jason Cox, and Joshua Cox; three daughters, Traci Cox, Reverend Arica Cox, and Sara Cox; three grandchildren; four sisters, Rita Muckala and husband Ken, Rachel Law, Cynthia Law and husband Thaddeus, and Constance Stewart and husband Henry; two aunts; and, many relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Alexander Cox, Jr., Richard Cox, and Clifton Cox; and, one grandson, Marty Cox.
He was an Associate Minister at the First Baptist Church in Vienna, VA, and was a Sergeant in the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He retired after a 39-year career with C&P and AT&T telephone company.
