Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Tuesday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. to conclude the visitation.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church, 2107 Pride Avenue, Clarksburg on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Akila Rodrigo presiding.   Entombment will follow in the Holy Cross Mausoleum.

Miss Mary Louise Oliverio of Clarksburg, died Sunday, February 25, 2018, on her 88th birthday after a short illness.

 

She was the daughter of Vicenzo “Jim” Oliverio and Mary Scalise Oliverio.

 

She attended North View Grade and Junior High School and graduated from Victory High School.

 

Mary served nine years in the Women’s Air Corps Service (WACS) stateside during the 1950s.

 

While in the Air Force, she worked as a dietician in the kitchen and later as a secretary.  She was proud of being a veteran.

 

When she returned home from the service, she was employed through Merle Moore, head librarian at the Clarksburg-Harrison Library, as assistant librarian.

 

Mary Louise learned to drive an automobile at the age of 65, and she could put it down the road! She liked to travel with her family and friends and took many trips throughout her life.  She liked to sing and was in the church choir.  Mary also won a national contest for a poem she wrote.

 

Preceding her death, besides her parents, were her brother, Patrick Oliverio, also retired from the Air Force, his wife Hildegard, and one infant nephew, James Oliverio, a twin.

 

Mary is survived by a nephew Patrick Oliverio and a close cousin Theresa Blake

 

She attended St. James Roman Catholic Church in North View.
