Family and friends may call at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 8092 Third St., Stonewood, WV on Sunday, July 14, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm with a vigil service to be held at 6:00 p.m. to conclude the visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Kumar Reddimasu as celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Michael Anthony Terango, 52, of Stonewood, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at the United Hospital Center following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on May 13, 1972 to James A. Terango and the late Laura Joan Davis Terango who passed away on January 12, 2019.

He is also survived by two brothers, James Kevin Terango and wife Donna of Stonewood, WV and Joseph Patrick Terango and wife Traci of Charlestown, WV; nieces and nephews: Matthew Childers and wife Sarah of Cross Lanes, WV, Haley McKinney and husband Janzen of Mooresville, NC, Anthony Terango of Summit Point, WV, Dante Terango of Summit Point, WV and Tyler Terango of Stonewood, WV; and one great-niece, Emmalyn.

Born and raised in Stonewood, Michael was a 1990 graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School which was the last graduating class. He graduated from West Virginia University with a master’s degree in journalism and education. In recent years, he developed several properties throughout the area. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, enjoyed playing all sports including basketball, baseball and football. Football was his greatest passion. He was head freshman football coach at James Wood High School in Winchester, VA. In 1984 he was the catcher on the WV Little League State Championship Team coached by his father and in 1987 he was the catcher on the WV Babe Ruth State Championship team. Michael received multiple honors throughout his high school years in baseball and football.

He was a proud member of the final Roosevelt Wilson High School basketball team that advanced to the state tournament.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to his Uncle Dan, Dennis Saoud, Barbara Clutter, and Christina Johnson and the staff at WVU Medicine Hospice.
