Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 pm, where funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm with Reverend Franklin Hairston officiating.   In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Skinner will be cremated following the service.

Michael Christopher Skinner, 48, of Clarksburg, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019 in the United Hospital Center following an extended illness.

 

He was born in Wilmington, DE on April 1, 1971, a son of the late Larry Michael Skinner and Penny Moneypenny Skinner who survives in Clarksburg.

 

In addition to his mother, he is also survived by one son, Logan Skinner of Salem; one daughter, Brooklyn Gustafson and her husband Adam of Jacksonville, NC; three grandchildren, Nautica Skinner, Jackson Cohen and Emmalynn Gustafson; one brother, David Skinner and his wife Rachel of Clarksburg; his grandfather, Ed DeMundo of Clarksburg; his grandmother, Virginia Skinner of Houston, TX; two aunts, Marsha Whisler and Mary Crusan and her husband Brian; and one niece, Shelby Rebrook.

 

He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Olivenne Moneypenny; and his paternal grandfather, Richard Skinner.

 

Mr. Skinner was employed with Winfield Medical with 20 years of service, and he was a Mechanical Engineer with the U.S. National Guard from 1990 to 2009, and was employed with JAK of Fairmont. He was also a member of Clarksburg Aerie No. 2353 Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Skinner will be cremated following the service.
