Obituaries

Ora Jane Toothman Johnson, 76, of Good Hope passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025.

She was born in Clarksburg on June 18, 1948, a daughter of the late John W. and Elma Jane Kelley Toothman.

She is survived by one son, Robert Johnson his wife Melissa Willis of Nutter Fort; one daughter, Amanda Gaughan and her husband Patrick of Coraopolis, PA; three grandchildren, Seneca Gaughan, Jeanette Gaughan and Chohee Johnson; and three siblings, Sharon Jewell and her husband Ed of Gahanna, OH, Cynthia Marsh of Good Hope and Linda Reese and her husband Brad of Buckhannon.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, John “Bill” Toothman, Jr.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of the first graduating class from South Harrison High School in 1966 and was a childcare provider in her home. She loved caring for children and spending time with her own grandchildren. She liked cats and enjoyed watching The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie. She also enjoyed listening to music, especially gospel hymns.

In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Johnson will be cremated.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 12:00 – 2:00 pm, where a memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm with Pastor Larry Kyle presiding.
