Family and friends may call at the All Saints Catholic Church, 317 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m.to conclude visitation. A Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at the church on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Perry Anthony Skinner, 56, of Bridgeport, WV and Washington, PA passed away peacefully at home with Melissa Garrett, who was with Visiting Angels, by his side on Saturday, January 6, 2018 after a four year battle with renal failure and kidney and pelvic cancer.

 

Perry was born in Morgantown, WV on October 20, 1961 and became the adoptive son of the late Tony Albert Skinner and Virginia Marie Skinner who resides in Bridgeport.
In addition to his mother, Perry is survived by his brother, Dean Skinner and wife Sherry and their children, Dylan and Elise of Sagamore Hills, OH; nephew, Charles Jermont, Jr. and his wife Jennifer and their children, Morgan and Connor of Akron, OH; Nephew Chad Jermont and his wife Jodi and their children, Sydney and Luke of Louisville, KY; brothers-in-law Charles Jermont, Sr. and David Goldinger of Akron, OH and several aunts, uncles and cousins along with his faithful dog, Julie.

 

In addition to his father, Perry was preceded in death by his sister, Gina Skinner Jermont Goldinger, an infant nephew, Christopher Perry Dean Jermont and numerous aunts, uncles and several cousins.

 

Perry was a 1979 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Clarksburg, WV. He began his professional career working at Terronova’s Restaurant in Fairmont, WV and later went on to work at Oliverio’s Restorante, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Subway, Exxon, Montgomery Ward’s, Dairy Mart, Advance America of Washington, PA, Infocision Management Corporation, Empowerment Through Employment and All Saints Catholic Church.

 

Perry was a Roman Catholic by faith and was a member of both All Saints Catholic Church in Bridgeport and Saint Hilary Church in Washington, PA. He served both parishes as Lector Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and the Parish Pastoral Council. Perry was a friend to all he met and helped all those he could.
