Phyllis Joy Haney, 95, formerly of Clarksburg, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024.

She was born in Clarksburg on June 6, 1929, the daughter of the late Alva Otto and Margie Helen Harker Carpenter of Hepzibah.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Berdett H. Haney, as well as her brothers, William Ellis and Leslie Carpenter and sisters Norma Davis and Dorothy Duty

Mrs. Haney is survived by her sister-in-law, Nancy Petrigac of Clarksburg, and several nieces and nephews.

Throughout her working career, Phyllis was employed by Secret Grocery, Lerner Shoppes and Scott Ladd Food Distributors where she retired.

Phyllis was a Christian by faith and long-time member of the Hepzibah Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School Teacher, sang in the choir and supported many projects of the church during her long membership.

The family would like to thank those who have taken care of Phyllis for the last three years including Sandy Luchuck, WVU Hospice and nurse Carol and the staff at Crestview Manor.

Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Friday, November 29, 2024 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, where funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm with Pastor Todd Jarman officiating. Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
