Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Friday, November 22, 2019 from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Harley Jeffries presiding.   Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Raymond William Everley, 74, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at the United Hospital Center with his loved ones by his side.

 

He was born in Connellsville, Pennsylvania on February 26, 1945, a son of the late Raymond and Wilma Cooper Everley.

 

Mr. Everley is survived by his wife Darla Jean Layfield Everley whom he married on September 11, 1999.

 

He is also survived by his son, Raymond William Zunko of Homestead, PA; three step-children, Roberta Powell Dunn and husband Chuck of Bridgeport, Donald Lee Powell and girlfriend Channtelle Lantz of Country Club, Richard Leon Powell and wife Tracy of Zanesville, OH; four step-granchildren, Jacob Edward Dunn and wife Melissa, Shelby Lynn Miracle and husband Kenneth, Robert James Powell and Lauren Nicole Powell; three step-great-grandchildren, Aidan and Brantley Dunn and K.J. Miracle; two brothers, Richard Lee Everley of Clarksburg and Donald Eugene Everley and wife Claudia of Star Junction, PA; daughter-in-law Sherrill Powell, several nieces and nephews; as well as Sassy the cat.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Lester Earl Clem; sister-in-law Lynnea Everley; and three step-sisters.

 

Raymond retired from National Aerospace Education Center where he was on the maintenance and security staff. He enjoyed shopping and eating at restaurants. He frequented the library and read many books. He was an avid Steelers’ fan. He took pride in helping to prepare holiday meals for the family he cherished and loved so much. He was a member of Light House Chapel Church.
