Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Fiscus and Don Fowler officiating. In keeping with his wishes, Cremation will follow.

Rodney Gene Losh, 65, of Clarksburg, gained his wings on Friday, September 13, 2024, while surrounded by his adoring family and the sound of music playing.
Rodney was born on May 3, 1959, in Sutton, WV, a son of the late Alvin E. and Maxine Dean Losh.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of nearly 40 years, Teresa Welch Losh, who he wed on November 30, 1984 and raised 3 children with: Kristyn Louzy and her husband Mat, Ryan Losh, and Jessica Harris and her husband Andrew, all of Clarksburg.

In addition to his wife and children he is survived by his five grandchildren, Talon Louzy, Brynna Louzy, Felicity Harris, Everly Harris, and Lincoln Harris; brother, Gary Losh; sisters, Marquetta McDonald and her husband Sam, Nancy Losh, Marsha Springs, Regina Nale, and Stephanie Knicely and her husband Rick; brothers-in-law, Mark Welch and Tim Welch; as well as a several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Randall Losh, Michael Losh, and an infant brother, Michael Losh; sister, Crystal Losh; father-in-law, Leroy Welch; and mother-in-law, Edith Welch.

Rodney was a proud graduate of South Harrison High School, Class of 1977, and enjoyed attending reunions and revisiting his glory days. He received a football scholarship to Glenville State University and would later attend Fairmont State University where he made the Dean’s list every semester. He had various jobs throughout his career such as American Homepatient in Charlotte, NC where he was the top sales representative throughout the country, Stonewall Jackson Hospital, where he was a respiratory therapist, and retired from Abraham Linc. After retirement he could be found in the produce section at Food Lion where he provided himself the title of “Vice President of Produce.” He always took his work seriously and will be remembered as a hard worker.

Rodney enjoyed playing football as well as being a spectator and was a fan of WVU and the Buffalo Bills. He enjoyed music and loved playing the guitar. He had an avid interest in the medical field and was passionate about sharing his knowledge. He liked to joke and laugh and had an infectious personality and a big heart. He will be especially remembered for his sense of humor that he kept until the very end.

Mr. Losh’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the ICU Staff at the United Hospital Center, as well as the staff on 4-North, for their exceptional care.
