Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Josh Morgan presiding. Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens with Full Military Graveside Rites accorded.

Ronald Lee “Ronnie” Phillips, age 70, of Nutter Fort, WV, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at the Mercy ICU Trauma and Burn Center in Pittsburgh, PA.
He was born in Clarksburg, WV, on November 23, 1953, a son of the late Gorman Phillips and the late Freda Stutler McClain. He was the stepson of the late Joseph McClain.
Ronald was Married on October 7, 1993, to his wife, Karen Rollyson Phillips, who resides at their home in Nutter Fort.
He is also survived by his son, Justin Phillips and wife Jamie of Bridgeport, stepsons, Dr. Scott Ross and wife Tiffany of Fairmont, Jason Ross and wife Alison of Bridgeport, and Jeff Boreman of Largo, FL. He was grandfather to eight grandchildren, Erin Barberio-Gray and husband Michael, Brooklyn Ross and fiancé Noah Vasicek, Gabriel Ross, Liliana Ross, Alexander Boreman, Arianna Boreman, Bryce Phillips, and Parker Phillips. He also leaves behind his brother, Steve McClain and wife Pam of Parkersburg, and his sister, Tammy Gwinn and husband Jake of Lumberport; as well as a special great niece, Chelsie Boreman, nieces, Melissa Saliga and husband Dave, Meredith Scalise and husband Vincent, and Carrie Gwinn, and nephews, Christopher Gwinn and Tom Guadagno and wife Jessica; great nieces Paige and Abby Guadagno; and great nephew T.J. Guadagno.
Ronald was a 1972 graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School. He was a veteran in the United States Navy during the Vietnam and Gulf Wars and retired after 21 years of service to our country, and retired from Bombardier Aerospace after 20 years of service.
Mr. Phillips was a member of the Covenant Church of Fairmont. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, and above all spending time with his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
