Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  There will be a Prayer Vigil at 7:30 p.m. to conclude the visitation.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church, 2107 Pride Avenue, Clarksburg, on Friday, May 10, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. with Father Akila Rodrigo as celebrant.   Interment will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Rose Elizabeth Lucian Picco, age 103, formerly of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019, New Oxford, PA.

 

Rose was born in Berryburg, WV, on April 27, 1916, a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Maria Ventura Lucian.

 

She was married on April 12, 1947 to Fred Henry Picco, who preceded her in death on July 15, 1980.

 

Surviving Mrs. Picco, are three daughters, Charlotte J. Markle and husband John F. of Glen Rock, PA, Beverly Ann Stiens and husband Donald of Maryville, MO, and Cynthia Hervey and husband George of Greensboro, NC; three grandchildren, John Bryan Markle, Melissa Rose Stiens Carlson and Drew Hervey; six  great grandchildren, Carson Stiens,  Chloe Rose Carlson, Colt Michael Carlson, Boston Paul Markle, and Elizabeth Rose Markle , John Henry Markle, and one on the way.  Also surviving are her siblings, Guy T. Lucian and wife Flo of Bridgeport, WV, Alvera Robinson of Gallipolis, OH, and Neva Stalenski of Clarksburg; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Sarah Addis, Angeline DeMarco, and Roma Carder.

 

Rose was a member of the St. James Catholic Church, and the Altar Rosary Society.  She was a homemaker.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cross Keys Village, The Brethren Home Community, Good Samaritan Fund, 2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford, PA 17350-9582.
