Family and friends may call at the Lost Creek United Methodist Church, 87 Church Circle, Lost Creek, West Virginia 26385 on Friday, December 6, 2019 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm with Reverend Shari Dawn Stilgenbauer officiating.  Interment will be in the Seventh Day Baptist Church Cemetery.

Russell Ray “Pete” Watson, 71, of Lost Creek, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 following a brief illness.

 

 

He was born in Clarksburg on July 3, 1948, a son of the late James F. Watson and Martha J. Eubank Watson Hileman.

 

 

Twice married, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Watson.  He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Watson; two step-sons, Richard Wilson and his wife Shelly, and Michael Wilson, all of Fellsmere, FL; one step-grandson, Wade Allen Wilson; one sister, Frances Stiles and her husband David of Stonewood; two nieces, Jennifer Gilpin and her husband Joe, and Julie Nuzum and her husband Bobby; two great nephews, Nathan and Mason Gilpin; and one great niece, Jessica Nuzum.

 

 

He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Cecil and Flori Watson, and Russell and Odessa Eubank; one sister, Alice Watson; and one nephew, Jason Stiles.

 

 

Mr. Watson was a 1966 graduate of South Harrison High School and was a retired Police Officer with 21 years of service in Washington, D.C.  He was a United States Air Force veteran having service in Vietnam.

 

 

Pete attended the Lost Creek United Methodist Church, the Fraternal Order of Police, Clarksburg Aerie No. 2353 Fraternal Order of Eagles, Meuse Argonne Post No. 573 VFW, Post No. 68 American Legion and a member of the Association of Retired Police Officers of D.C., Inc.
