There will be a gathering of family and friends on Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 12:00 to 3:00 pm, where a memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm with Reverend Jerry Garrett presiding.

Ruth Elouise (Cumberledge) Perkins, 79, of Clarksburg, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Clarksburg on October 27, 1938, a daughter of the late James and Louise Watson Cumberledge.
She was married to Woodrow Jennings “WJ” Perkins on June 10, 1956, who preceded her in death on December 3, 2010.
Surviving are four children, Lora Dean and her companion, Randy Jarrett of Clarksburg, Diana Winters of Clarksburg, Rick Perkins and his wife Vanessa of Quiet Dell, and James “Mike” Perkins of Clarksburg; nine grandchildren, Terry Dean and his spouse B. D. Hartman, April Leuliette and her husband Tim, Ellie Aviles and her husband Jonathan, Matthew Perkins and his wife Melissa, Krystena Perkins, Tyler Perkins, Synjen Perkins, Amanda Perkins and Michael Perkins; four great grandchildren, Molly Hugus, Will and Bryanna Perkins, and Corbin Adams; one sister, Daronda “Doll” Phillips of Clarksburg; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one son-in-law, Steve Winters; and three siblings, Ernie Cumberledge, Sue Edler and Jim Cumberledge.
Mrs. Perkins attended Washington Irving High School and was a homemaker. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and enjoyed keeping the books for her husband’s business, WJ Painting Contractors.
In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Perkins will be cremated.

Flowers and food may be sent to the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home prior to the service on Sunday.
Interment will be in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens at a later time.
