Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Monday, November 25, 2019 from 2:00 – 7:00 P.M. where a service will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. with Lauren Cook presiding. Catholic Burial Rites will follow in the Bridgeport Cemetery with Father Gary Naegele presiding.

Scott W. Kennedy II, 72, of Bridgeport, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2019 at the United Hospital Center with loved ones by his side.

 

He was born in Salem on August 13, 1947, a son of the late Scott W. and Jennie Alice Parker Kennedy.

 

He is survived by his wife Heidi Altizer Kennedy whom he married on July 17, 1982.

 

Also surviving him are five grandchildren, J. Mitchell Kennedy and wife Megan, Brennan Kennedy, Donovan Kennedy, Aidan Kennedy and wife Georgia, and Faith Kennedy; great-grandson Dean Mitchell Kennedy; two daughers-in-law Marylou Kennedy of Arizona and Christina Johnson of Clarksburg; brother George M. Kennedy and wife Millie; and Frosty the Cat.

 

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his two sons, Scott W. Kennedy III and Aaron E. Kennedy; sister Jeannie Aichele; and niece Heather Ashcraft.

 

Mr. Kennedy was a graduate of Washington-Irving High School. He was a Union carpenter for a number of years before going into the automotive industry, eventually becoming the owner and operator of Gateway Motors and CarGuyz Body Shop. He liked to play golf, paintball, and participate in a weekly basketball game at the Henderson Center. He had a passion for muscle cars and looked forward to attending the NHRA National Drag Races. He enjoyed making people smile with a mischievous sense of humor and charming smile.

In Lieu of Flowers the family request for donations to be made to the Humane Society of Harrison County.
