Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, WV on Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.   The funeral service will be held at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Frank Shipley presiding.   Interment will follow at the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Charles Lee “Chuck” Miller (Charming Charlie), 69, of Clarksburg passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 following an extended illness.

 

He was born in Clarksburg, WV on December 1, 1947 a son of the late Charles Russell Sheline and Betty Jean Miller and the late Earl James Miller, the father who raised him.

 

He is survived by one son, Mark Miller and wife Tina of Sevierville, TN; one daughter, Tara Carder and husband John of Nutter Fort, WV; Marianne Miller mother of his son Mark and Della Jean Schmitz mother of his daughter Tara; nine grandchildren, Hope, Cody, Michelle, Tyler, Danna, John Aiden, Izabella, Rosie and Andrea; 5 great grandchildren, Izaiah, Brayden, Damion, Nowah, Lilly and Braydon; two step daughters, Karen Dye of South Daytona, FL and Cornelia Fiedler of New Market, TN; two brothers, James “Jimmy” Miller and wife Crystal of Buckhannon, WV and Bryon Miller of Stonewood, WV; two sisters, Marjorie “Maggie” Wright and husband Keith of Richmond, VA and Betty “Darlene” Bartos and husband John of Stonewood, WV; his maternal grandmother, Goldie Mae McIe Moran; two step brothers, Ronald Miller and Robert Miller and wife Elizabeth Jo; Several nieces and nephews; his lifelong friend, William “Bill” Hurst, many friends and the love of his life.

 

After graduating high School, Chuck attended IBM Computer Programing School and retired in 2000 from the West Virginia Department of Highways as a paint truck driver with 25 years’ service. He was an avid Mountaineer and Dallas Cowboy fan. While attending Broadway Jr. High, he was a crossing guard and played basketball. He was a former king of Broadway Junior High. His sophomore year he played football for Roosevelt Wilson High School and was manager of the football team his junior year. He was a member of 4-H and FFA and loved working on cars and visiting the junkyard. Gardening was a passion of his. He attended Central Hills Seventh Day Adventist Church. Two of his favorite quotes were, “Seek the truth and ye shall find it” and “Study and prove all things” and in his own words, “I loved Jean Miller, my wife, and my children and I will be missed by everyone”.
