Deborah “Debbie” Bright was born on July 20, 1956 in Clarksburg, WV, and joined her parents, Bus and Dottie Bright and many other loved ones in heaven on October 24, 2023.

Debbie was a bright light with a smile that warmed the hearts of everyone she met.

A graduate of Liberty High School, Class of 1974, Debbie worked in the caregiving industry for most of her life – as an owner of a home childcare business; a behavior support provider; a nursing assistant to the elderly, and as a home healthcare provider. Though, the work she was most proud of was that of motherhood and grand mothering.

Debbie is survived by one daughter, Heather Merritt of Morgantown, WV and one son, James Dean of Clarksburg, WV; son in law, Bray Merritt; grandchildren, Gavin Dean, Miles Merritt, Mia Dean, Zoe Dean, Ryder Merritt, and Nolan Dean; uncles, Robert Bright and Rodney Bright and their wives, Susie Bright and Melissa Bright, and many cherished cousins.

Debbie was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church, and her church family was extremely important to her. She provided numerous hours of service to many despite her own health complications up to the very last days of her life.

Debbie touched the hearts of everyone she met, and she will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held at the Free Will Baptist Church on Ohio Avenue in Clarksburg on Saturday, November 4th at 12:00pm. The family will begin receiving guests at 11:30am.
