Gerald Wayne “Jerry” Reed, 58, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away suddenly on October 3, 2019 at the United Hospital Center.

Jerry was born on November 16, 1960 in Clarksburg, a son of Lester “Dink” and Shirley L. Gillespie Reed who reside in Clarksburg.

He is survived by his sister, Kimberly Reed of Clarksburg; one niece, Kristina Perrine of Clarksburg; four cousins, Rick Reed of Bridgeport, Tammy Reed Gibson of Clarksburg, Bill Coleman, and Rick Coleman, both of Benson, AZ; and his beloved cat and dog, Max and Hannah.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Curt and Laura Reed; maternal grandparents, Ernest and Martha Jean Gillespie; and his nephew, Sgt. David Allen Martin.

Jerry was a 1979 graduate of Washington Irving High School and went on to study at West Virginia University and Fairmont State University. He was a printer at Merrells Inc. and worked at Chenoweth Ford in many capacities over multiple years. Jerry was an avid bowler; some might say he ate, slept, and dreamt bowling. He was the president of the WV State USBC and the association manager for the Local USBC. He leaves behind many of his bowling friends, who were more like family to him.

Family and Friends may call to the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison St., Nutter Fort, WV 26301, on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 10, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend James Harris presiding.
