Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm, where funeral services will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 11:00 am with Pastor Bobby Bright officiating. Interment will be in the WV National Cemetery.

Larna Frances May Shartz Liston Bohone, 93, of Nutter Fort passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.

She was born in Rowlesburg on September 15, 1930, a daughter of the late Holbert Samuel and Cherlottie Burns Shartz.

She was married to Thomas E. Bohone, who preceded her in death on December 28, 2000.

Surviving are three children, Peter Vernon Liston of Inverness, FL, Robert Stanley Liston of Clarksburg and Brenda Joyce Liston and her husband Terry Hotsinpiller of Bridgeport; five grandchildren, Christina (Steve) Richards, Sabrina (Andy) Thomas, Gene (Nikki) Bohone, Jessica (Jordan) Brown and Heather Jean Powers and fiancé Josh; 12 great grandchildren, Allyson, Andrew, Jeremy, Josie, Renee, Jackson, Jake, Gwendolyn, Trystan, Morgan, Miriah and Morandi; three great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, daughter-in-law, Mary Catherine Bohone of Parkersburg; and sister-in-law, Bernice Shartz of Maryland; as well as her cat, Midnite.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Thomas Eugene Bohone, Jr. in 2017; and two brothers, Lawrence Shartz and Fred Shartz.

Mrs. Bohone was a graduate of Rowlesburg High School and previously worked as a packer for Continental Can, but mostly she was a homemaker and loving mom and granny. She was an avid bowler who won many trophies. She camped frequently in Preston County and enjoyed family gatherings, especially the one on Christmas Eve. She was also a great cook and baker, specializing in fresh bread and rolls. Larna cherished her family and was always loving and caring.

A special thank you to Country Living Personal Care Home, Sherry Sellers and special thanks to WV Hospice, Dr. Matthew Cupp, Shaunna Yokum NP, as well as her daughter, Brenda, who has been her main caregiver for many years with the help of many loving and caring sitters.
