Obituaries

Dale C. Winters, 83, of Wake Forest, NC, passed away on September 4, 2016, at the William M. Dunlap Center for Caring in Wake County, NC.

He was born in Deep Creek Lake, MD, on November 15, 1932, a son of the late Clarence R. Winters and Vay Armentrout Winters.

Dale is survived by his wife, Nancy Jo Swiger Winters, whom he married on June 27, 1956.

Also surviving are one son, Steven Winters and fiancé Kim of Fairmont, WV; one daughter, Allyson Adams and husband Kris of Wake Forest, NC; five grandchildren, Daniel Burnell, Kristen Thompson, Danielle Adams, Jordan Adams and Amy Herron; and four great grandchildren, Camden, Bentley, Jack and Ben. He is also survived by two brothers, Harold Winters of Columbus, OH, and Claude Winters and wife Jean of Eglon, WV; sister-in-law, Helen June Winters of Roanoke, VA; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Orval Winters.

Mr. Winters was a retired sheet metal worker from Northern Grumman Corporation, and was a veteran in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He was a member of the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, and a member of the Clarksburg Flying Club. He also was a 50 year member of the Herman Lodge #6 AF&AM, a 32^nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a past member of Fairmont Go-Carting Club.

Family and Friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The funeral service will be held at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Linda Muhley presiding.

Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
