I’m deeply saddened and heartbroken over the loss of Joe. I knew him for many years. Starting with when he was stationed in Kingwood with the state police. There will not be another Joe Trupo. He knew my father and grandfather. He was truly a man of wisdom. Please accept my deepest condolences. Sending many prayers to his family ???

The Brackenrich family is very saddened by this loss. We have known Joe Trupo for years through our father, Vernard N Brackenrich. They were in the same class at the police academy, graduated together and served at the same time at a number of detachments. When I think of him, he’s having dinner in our home and smiling that contagious smile he had. Prayers for you and your family. Tia (Brackenrich) Walsh

My sincere condolences to the family. I knew Joe when he served at the Sutton post and had some very good and fun contacts with Joe. Years later, after he was elected Sheriff in Harrison County, I stopped and visited him and paid my respects. He was a great man. We need a lot more like him today!

Condolences to Mike and the extended family. To describe his life and career as “legendary “ is woefully inadequate. His personality and his incredible influence in law enforcement and beyond will long be remembered. God bless his soul.

So sorry for the loss of Sheriff Joe. I will attend the visitation and bring plenty of food to the church. He helped me get out of jams more than anyone will ever know. I'll need some help bringing in the food so send out some funeral boys to the Oliverios parking lot about 6pm on Thursday. I get enough for all of us. I'll meet you at the side doors by the bar. Thanks again. G.L. Spotwood
