Babs was a delight to work with. Her enthusiasm and love for her students and love for music, in particular singing, was an integral part of who she was. During our after school meetings of county music teachers when we were all tired, you could count on Babs to lift our spirits with her creative ideas and sense of humor. My prayers go out to her family. It is my prayer that your memories and love of her will shine through you as her memories will remain with all of us who had the privilege of knowing her. Babs may you rest in peace my friend.

Who can ever forget the beautiful Babs Smith with the voice of an angel? God Bless Howard and family. We can only imagine her singing with the Angelic Choir in Heaven where the Lord Jesus, God the Father are rejoicing along with her. My sincere condolences to all whose lives have been touched by Babs. JKH

My classroom was behind the theater at SHHS, and it could be quite interesting at times. My favorite memories were hearing the choir practice while working during my planning period. One year my kids and I made Mexican tissue paper flowers to decorate the theater for one of their shows. Babs was an amazing person who brought out the best of students’ talents. She touched many lives for the better. Prayers for her and for healing for those left behind.

Babs was my choir director for three years at Bridgeport High. Her encouragement and insistence that I stretch myself made me a better musician. May she rest in peace in the arms of our Lord.
