Obituaries

Robert L. Moore, 85, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at his residence.

He was born in North View, WV, on March 19, 1933, a son of the late Dorsey R. and Ruth Powell Moore.

Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Wilson Moore, whom he married on December 17, 1954.

He is also survived by his son, Robert “Ben” Moore and wife Stephanie Ann of Mentor, OH; his daughter Cynthia J. Moore of Clarksburg; and three grandchildren, Rebekah A. Moore, Kara N. Moore and Kyle B. Moore.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy J. Pulliam.

Robert graduated from Victory High School and went on to graduate from West Virginia University. He served our country as a veteran in the U.S. Army, and began his career with Hope Gas and retired from CNG Transmission as Vice President of Field Operations with 37 years of Service.

Mr. Moore was a member of the Bridgeport Church of Christ where he was an Elder. He was a former member of Registered Professional Engineers, and was a Board of Trustee Emeritus of the Ohio Valley University for 40 years. He played regularly in the men’s golf league at the Clarksburg Country Club on Mondays.

Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Friday, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., where services will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Evangelist John F. Board and Ryan Currey presiding.

Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
