Terry Russell Layfield, II, 39, of Clarksburg, WV passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023.

He was born in Clarksburg on July 30, 1983, a son of Terry R. and Sarah J. Norman Layfield who reside in Clarksburg.

In addition to his parents, Terry is survived by one brother, Bryan Layfield and wife Devon of Mertztown, PA; one sister, Melissa Hinebaugh and husband Bobby of Summit Park; six nieces and nephews, Maliah, Jenna, Malorie, Preston, Denton, and Makenzie; maternal grandmother, Edith Hurst of Bridgeport; maternal grandfather, Bryan Norman and wife Judy of Morehead, NC; three aunts, Diann Bartlett and husband Don, Dianne Dotson and husband John, and Julie Todd; one uncle, Donnie Layfield and companion Janice Henry; and numerous cousins.

He is preceded in death by his son, Nate Layfield; and his paternal grandparents, Denver and Wanda Layfield.

Terry was a graduate of Liberty High School class of 2001 and attended Fairmont State University where he earned a degree in criminal justice and continued his education to obtain a masters degree. He currently worked as a mechanic for United Rental and previously was employed at the Harrison County Probation Office as a Probation Officer.

In keeping with the family’s wishes, Terry will be cremated.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison St, Nutter Fort, WV on Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
