Principals are the stalwart leaders who guide the journey of education, inspiring both students and staff alike. They are the pillars of wisdom, compassion, and vision, dedicating themselves to creating an environment where knowledge flourishes, dreams take flight, and success becomes attainable. The final bell has rung for you, but your influence will resonate in our lives forever. Your memory will be a source of inspiration and guidance for all who knew you. I am a relative of Sam but never truly knew a lot about how outstanding he was in his lifetime. I know about Dr Jim and I have a copy of his tribute to the history of the Pignanelli family and their move to the United States. I am the daughter of Mary Priebe and my brother is Bob Priebe. I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the whole Scolapio family. May you all have peace knowing that Sam is now resting in the Lord.

Sam was the epidemy of a great and fair leader as well as a good and gentle (but firm when needed) soul. I owe my start in my career to Sam and will be forever grateful. He taught me so much about being a good teacher and person. I am sad to hear of his passing but am sure he is looking down on us all. West Virginia and the world is a better place because of his presence. May he rest in peace and the perpetual light shine upon him. May the dear Lord provide comfort and peace to his family.
