Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The Service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplin Dr. Rob Kauffelt presiding. Interment will follow in the Seventh Day Baptist Church Cemetery where full military graveside rites will be accorded.

Hurley Lloyd Riffle, 87, formerly of Mt. Clare WV, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the West Virginia Veterans Nursing Facility in Clarksburg.

Mr. Riffle was born on May 27, 1936, in Mt. Clare, WV, a son of the late Jay H. and Nina Kendall Riffle. He was a gentle soul, loving father, and dedicated family man.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Reveal and husband J.E. of Charleston, WV; and his granddog, “Bradley”. He also leaves behind his sister, Dorothy Webb and husband Donnie of Pensacola, Fl, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He is also survived by his former wife, Lucille Riffle, who he remained close with until his death.

In addition to his parents Mr. Riffle was preceded in death by four brothers, Buck Riffle, Sam Riffle, Jay Riffle, and Ron “Snapper” Kendall, and one sister, Pearl Villers.

Hurley proudly serviced our country as a Veteran in the U.S. Navy and retired from Tomaro’s Bakery with over 50 years of service as a baker.

Mr. Riffle was Protestant by faith and a former member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed golfing in his early years and was a dedicated employee of the bakery.
